Clara Bow was the "IT" girl. In 1927, Ms Bow exploded off the silent screen in the the film, "IT". Her classic performance as a salesgirl loaded with "it" created one of the screens most memorable characters that personified innocence and sexuality. She went on to become the classic "flapper girl" and one of Hollywood's most popular silent screen stars. She used to get 45,000 fan letters weekly. Sadly, with the advent of sound, Ms. Bow's strong Brooklyn accent made her career slide.
